Da Curvy Road Tour will test the driving skills of the average driver as the cars will traverse 72 miles of the back roads in East Clackamas County. We’ll be heading East from Oregon City, then heading “North” out of Estacada, through the small community of Dover, to the town of Sandy and points north. There are few straight lines between these points, mostly Curvy Roads. We’ll slow down to gaze at numerous raging rivers, we’ll take a break in among some huge old growth Hemlock trees draped with moss, we’ll make a stop at one of the best Mt. Hood view points in the area and then traverse back down into the Sandy River valley again. All will terminate at Calamity Jane’s Hamburger Parlour Restaurant, (42015 SE Hwy 26, Sandy, OR) featuring over 40 different hamburgers (from 1/3 lb. to 1 lb. should you dare), salads, beer, wine and great shakes. Driving time is about two hours plus about 1 hour for intermediate stops. Recommend that you fill up your tanks before the tour as there is nothing available in the back roads.
Note: We will be making a stop in a County park where there is a $5 per car daily fee. I will try to arrange to reduce this to $2 with advanced notice ONLY. Please let me know by August 15th so I can order discount passes. Otherwise you’ll need to pay the $5.
So grab your camera, tighten those lug nuts, hone your driving skills and join us for Da Curvy Road Tour. Currently scheduled is for Saturday, September 9th, starting at the Oregon City Home Depot. Tour rolls around 9:00 a.m.
